It's already plenty enough labor for her to set up the ingredients for him to make his meal. That's already enough effort on her part. If he wants to eat good, he can do the rest.

The alternative to a home-cooked meal by your wife isn't take-out, it's cooking for yourself. Sounds like our protagonist has four kids in the house, not three.

'They're saying I'm "neglecting" him': Mother of 3 with special needs and allergies expected to cater to husband's low-carb diet as well, her family takes his side when she refuses
Navigating mealtime with people with different food allergies, preferences, and diets can be incredibly difficult. In my own friend group, we have a vegan, a vegetarian, and a woman that eats a Paleo diet – that is, she eats meat, vegatables, and dairy but avoids wheat, rice, and sugar. We usually just end up getting Thai food since it suits all of our dietary needs, but unfortunately, eating at an Italian restaurant or sushi place together is forever out of the question.
In our story today, a mom navigates her own children's dietary restrictions and needs while being expected to cater to her husband's. The problem is that the things that her kids are able to eat, such as curries, her husband simply dislikes and refuses to eat. So, instead of cooking up a whole different dish for him, she focuses on her kids. He is an adult, after all. However, her parents don't see it like that!
